Smart City Networks announced that it has been awarded a new contract with the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) and will continue to serve the facility as the centers technology partner. Effective July 1, 2009, Smart City Networks will provide the LACC with event technology services, including telecommunications, Internet, networking, fiber optic, data services, and Wi-Fi.
"We are very pleased that the City of Los Angeles approved our contract and look forward to continuing our partnership with one of the nations leading convention centers," said Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks. "The approval of our agreement highlights the confidence that the center has with Smart City services and our local team, led by Henry De La Rosa."
"We are pleased to continue our successful partnership with Smart City Networks," said Pouria Abbassi, general manager and CEO of the Los Angeles Convention Center. "Since 1987, Smart City has demonstrated exceptional customer service as well as the technical capability to continually offer a superior program of Internet, data, networking, Wi-Fi, telecommunications and technical services that meet the LACCs clients needs. "
Smart City Networks finalized its contract with LACC after submitting to a comprehensive and rigorous RFP process that required prospective vendors to have a minimum of five years experience in providing telecommunication services to the convention center and/or hospitality markets. A key requirement to finalizing the contract with LACC was Smart Citys ability to "creatively maintain, enhance, and expand LACCs prominence in the exhibition and convention industry, through the implementation of creative and effective client telecommunications solutions."
A unique component of the agreement is that Smart City Networks will provide Information Technology infrastructure and equipment upgrades for the LACCs administrative needs and future growth expectations in addition to servicing incoming clients with technology solutions.
